The Soldiers Project (TSP) provides free counseling and support to American military service members/vets who served or who expect to serve during the Iraq and/or Afghanistan conflicts and their loved ones. Its independent group of volunteer, licensed mental health professionals, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, registered nurses and marriage and family therapists, counsel military service members (active duty, National Guard, Reserves and veterans). Its services are also available to the families and other loved ones of service members. TSP provides therapeutic help with issues related to the overwhelming trauma of war– including the cycle of pre-deployment to deployment to homecoming and re-entry into civilian life.
Due to the stigma still often associated with seeking mental health services, The Soldiers Project is dedicated to complete confidentiality and accessibility. The organization does not report to any government agency. It is a private non-profit whose services are entirely free of charge.
The Soldiers Project currently provides services in Chicago, IL; Long Island, NY; Pennsylvania; Sacramento, CA; Southern California; and Wyoming. With an ever-increasing need for mental health services, the organization continues to broaden its outreach efforts. Your generous donation would enable TSP to provide additional service men, women and their loved ones with mental health services.
